In 2013, Amanda founded the Emerging Media Convention as a capstone project and was assisted with Emerging Media and Digital Art majors: Chazlyn Lovely and and Ian Whitehouse. The Emerging Media Convention (EMC) is an annual digital media convention driven by the goal of preparing creative art students for life after SOU, bringing Southern Oregon University students and alumni, individuals in the digital media industry, and businesses together in one space in order to foster collaboration. EMC offers a number of dynamic panel discussions and workshops surrounding topics chosen by current creative arts students at Southern Oregon University.
EMCon will be celebrating their third Annual Emerging Media Convention. Even after graduation, Amanda continues to collaborate with and mentor current Southern Oregon University students in the planning of the event. |
